25 Random Things About Me, Continued:

3) I eventually outgrew my sweet little pony Buck, and he was passed on to another girl. My next horse was a 6 month old bay colt I named Mai Tai (Tai for short), who I raised throughout high school and trained & broke myself. Around that time, my parents thought that since horses had kept me out of trouble, maybe that might work for my sister Joy, so they bought her a lovely chestnut Arab gelding named Mo. Not too long after that, Mo fell with Joy riding him, she broke her wrist, and that was the end of Joy and horses. Mo also became mine, and he's the one that went away with me to college at WAZZU. The horse years (mostly) ended when I graduated from college and discovered how much it costs to keep them when you don't have time to do all of the work yourself and you don't want to braid manes and tails at horse shows for money anymore.

4) The day my sister broke her wrist in the riding accident, I rode in the ambulance with her to the hospital, and bravely opted to hold her other hand while they set her broken wrist in the ER. I wasn't prepared for the Very Large Needle that they would insert into her wrist and twist all around in there (anesthetic), and the sight of that Very Large Needle made me pass out, crashing through the instrument tray, and smacking my head on the ER floor. My parents arrived shortly thereafter to find not one daughter admitted to the ER but two; one with a broken wrist, and one with a concussion. Apparently there were also two ER bills. And to think that that needle-phobic girl went on the become a nurse!
