Over the years, I've had some dreadful experiences with room mates, so two and a half years ago, when I had to choose between finding room mates or giving up a house that I love, it was with a sense of apprehension that I chose room mates. With this one, as it turns out, I worried for no reason. Shura is not only an ideal housemate, she's also grown into one of my best friends. As far as I'm concerned, she can be my room-mate forever, and we'll be little old batty ladies together, just like the Golden Girls.

Some of the reasons why I love Shura:
-She sends out Tweets that say things like "Sunny sunny sunny sun sun fun sun love sun day!"
-Her favorite colors are lime green and orange
-She randomly blurts out things like "I love my life" and "I'm so lucky!"
-She laughs easily, often, and deeply
-She's delightfully photogenic
-She almost always has a positive outlook
-She loves to have fun
-She talks to her family almost every day, and delights in visiting them
-She pulls her weight (and looks the other way when I sometimes don't)
-Her smile is generous and sincere
-She says what's on her mind, and it's often hilarious
-She communicates thoughtfully and kindly, even when the subject is difficult
-She's a great listener and a wonderful friend
