My (not so) secret life as a geek:
GMail just released IMAP email. This tickles me silly. I can now have my email synced across Mac Mail, my iPhone, and the web. I feel like I've entered a whole new world of modern communication. This rocks! This also means that if you aren't using my gmail address to contact me, you need to update your address book. I'm still receiving playapixie.org email for now, but it's less reliable and I'm going to shut it down soon. Leave a comment if you don't have that address and I'll send it to you.
Apple released Leopard today. Being the geek that I am, I pre-ordered for guaranteed delivery by 10:30 this morning. True to my geeky nature, I stayed home all morning to make sure I was here when it arrived, with several hours free mid-day to geek out with it before I have to be somewhere else this afternoon. At 10:55, with no delivery yet (they're late!), I logged on to FedEx to track the package only to discover that at 10:29 the driver claimed attempted delivery with "no one available to accept package; signature required." Bullshit! There's no note on my door and I was here waiting for that package all morning. Kind of suspicious that "attempted delivery" at 10:29, one minute before the guaranteed delivery time, don't you think? When I called FedEx, they said they couldn't even promise "repeat delivery attempt" today. Grrrrrrr! Guess I should have just planned to drive to the Apple Store myself instead of ordering on-line.

I don't have that address... but then again, we only communicate when I comment anyway. *grin*
I'm waiting for my Gmail IMAP to land, 'cause then I can put both of my most-important accounts into one email client. The joy, the joy!

Yeah, OK you got me with that photo and its impressive that you captured it with a point and shoot. I'll be adding this little site to the list of frequently visited.
Thanks.

Sigh. Totally understand with FedEx....we've had that problem A LOT with FedEx Ground in particular. Thing is, we have a security camera aimed at our front door and it records to DVR (speaking of geek...), so we've been able to prove the driver was lying. Not that it did a whole lot of good, but it was satisfying to tell the dispatcher "we have video of our door and there's been NO driver!"
