Elesa and Mauck on the Edge of the World [Mahaulepu Beach, Kauai] Canon EOS 20D w/16-35mm f2.8 L Zoom

It rained the entire two and a half weeks that I was on Kauai in March. This photo was taken on one of only three days that it didn't rain more or less the entire day, one of the few days in which I could see some blue sky. Even so, Kauai has to be one of the most amazing and magical places I have ever been. Two days after this photo was taken, Mauck and I strapped on backpacks and made a 6-day trek out along the NaPali Coast on the north shore to Kalalau Valley, where I was treated to some of the most spectacular scenery of my life, as well as to the intensity and spirituality that I came to learn enshrouds Kauai.
