I'm sure all of you have heard or read about the fatal shooting of 6 innocent people at a house party in Seattle over the weekend. That party was at the home of several of my friends, just a few blocks from my home. Sadly, one of my friends (Jeremy Martin) is dead, several other friends were present at the party and are physically well, but shaken, and all of my friends are reeling from the tragedy. I do not have the emotional energy to blog about this right now, although I do hope to write something in the upcoming days. For now, know that I am ok, I am personally in a very good emotional spot in my life and am handling this well. While my circle is quite shaken by this tragedy, it has been beautiful to watch my community come together to support and love eachother. Jeremy, you are missed, and my heart goes out the the families and friends of all the victims.
Otherwise, I can't believe how far behind I am in posting anything on this site. That's because I remain quite busy with real life, which I am finding much more compelling than sitting behind my powerbook, or even getting behind the camera lens. I recently returned from Kauai, where I spent a few weeks visiting my friend Mauck, and have been both working and playing really hard since I returned a week and a half ago. I'm enjoying the signs of spring, and am constantly reminded that life is beautiful and to live, live, live.

It'll sound trite, but I know how you feel, and I'm sorry.
Your last sentence is a good reminder ... you never how much time you have left here so live each day to its fullest.

I miss you, darlin! I wish I was there. I'll be home in a few days.

Small world. Read about that shooting too in the UK and Dutch Press. It looked 'far away' until I read about it here ....
