Butts [Vancouver, B.C.] Canon EOS 20D w/28-135mm IS USM Zoom

I can't imagine having an addiction so badly that I'd collect other people's butts to satisfy it...

On another note, today we're off for Burning Man! A bit delayed getting on the road due to some wiring trouble with the trailer brakes. But we *will* be on the road today sometime.

We're camping at Kidsville (5:30 and Ego...come say hi!) Both Kalea and Keegan are coming this year. It's Keegan's first year!

Keegan is looking forward to "seeing everyone and watching the man burn and spinning fire staff."
Kalea is looking forward to "spinning fire poi for the first time, having it be my 4th burn, and seeing what it's going to be like having Keegan there." I'm looking forward to lots of hooping (including lighting up the fire hoop I built), hanging out with our family and friends, and seeing all the art. Michael isn't here to answer the question (he's out getting the brake wiring taken care of), but we think he's looking forward to DJing at the Fire Pod on tuesday night and hanging out with his super-awesome-fantastic family.

****UPDATE Sunday 8/28 12:28 A.M.******

So we're still home in Seattle after a very frustrating day. Michael took his new Suburban (yeah, we know it's evil, but he's running biodiesel, so not that evil!) to get new tires at Firestone. So when they tried to back the car up, one of the wheels locked up. It turns out that they couldn't get one of the lug nuts off, so they cut the bolt. Apparently they think maybe the cut bolt piece slipped back into the wheel mechanism somehow and is preventing it from turning, but they're not sure. This happened at close of business saturday, so the tire guys left for the day. They tell Michael that the manager can help him at 9:00 tomorrow morning, but there are no mechanics in on sunday, so we have no idea if anyone can even look at the car tomorrow, much less fix it. This means we're essentially stranded with our travel trailer parked in front of our house and no way to tow it. So either 1) the Suburban gets fixed, whenever that happens, and we head to Burning Man then, or 2) we transfer all of our stuff into the VW camper and Michael's dilapidated old Landcruiser and head down without the trailer, which means we'd also have to take less stuff, which totally sucks since the Suburban and the trailer were purchased specifically with this trip in mind. Either way we're at least a day, if not two, late down to the playa. Grrrrr.

Hi Dawn,

You may not remember me (you may have been too young), but my maiden name is "Hardie" and I used to live two doors down from your family when we were kids in Bellevue, WA.

It's amazing that I found your site (which is great, by the way) because I was actually looking for an email address for your brother Andy, since my brother, Scott had recently run into your mom and she mentioned he was living in California and I thought he was in special effects or something, and boy is he ever! Google is a wonderful thing and I discovered that he is doing amazing things in the filmworld! Anyway, I was just feeling nostalgic and wanted to touch-base and say hi, how's life, etc., etc.

I hope life has found you well and you are enjoying your adventures.

Drop me a line sometime and say hi to Andy for me if you should happen to talk to him. He was, afterall, my first 10 year-old crush.

Take Care,

Linda
