Yesterday I did something really dumb, so dumb that even I have never done it before. I got my car towed. See, the thing about being on a weird night schedule, is that when I get out of bed the day is already half-over by other people's standards, but I think it's morning. Yesterday, I parked my car on a busy street in the University District at around 3:30, a street that apparently allows parking, but only up until 4PM. Given that I'd only been out of bed 3 1/2 hours by then, I didn't notice either the time or the 4PM deadline for parking.

When I was ready to leave, I headed down the street where I thought I'd left my car. It wasn't there. I noted the time on my watch: 4:10PM. I figured they couldn't really have towed my car in 10 minutes, so I must have parked somewhere else. I then spent the next 20 minutes searching other streets for my car, but it wasn't there, either. So at about 4:30, I call the Seattle Police Department phone number on the "No parking between 4-6PM sign" and tell them I'm either so dumb that I lost my car, or I'm so dumb that I got my car towed. They informed me it was the latter.

How about that? 10 minutes late back to my car, and it wasn't just ticketed, it was towed. Towed! So it cost me $111 to rescue my car from jail, and it will be another $38 to keep the parking police from sending me nasty reminders in the mail.

While I waited for Michael to get off work and come dive me to my imprisoned VW, I sat in a coffee shop taking stealth photos of strangers, like this one.

Hi! I enjoyed looking at your photos you have posted. Especially the "stealth"..lol..I too am interested in photography and am looking forward to purchasing a Canon digital rebel after Christmas. Looks like an Ideal camera from what I've read about it. Thanks for letting me snoop around.
